Write On! Inner Well, Outer Word Spontaneous Writing!
We just wrapped on a 5-week group writing series, Inner Well, Outer Word! Nine members gathered from a teenager to their 80s with various writing experience and interests. Some home journalers, some aspiring creative writers, one a published author, and a few self-proclaimed non-writers. Two things really struck me about this group: 1) Everyone there was practicing something different, whether it was self-care, facing fears, listening, being seen, or speaking out. 2) They all showed up in lovely, human ways and I believe the experience was rich and beneficial for all. In a divisive world, learning to be with others who may hold different beliefs, yet share humanity is a powerful thing. I know it made an impact on me.
I am grateful to all the members who showed up for this last round and excited that people are interested in doing this style of group in-person! Whatever type of group one may join, it supports cultivating your three core psychological needs of belonging, security, and significance. I witnessed all these things playing out in real time, and what a gift!
Spontaneous writing is the medium used to access insight, creativity, and connection. I learned this style of writing from my Open Floor International teachers and have added a bit of a therapeutic twist on it.
Curious? Craving connection? Wanting to nourish your creativity? Is there something in life you are practicing? Two opportunities are scheduled to join this developing writing community!
