What to Expect: Treatment Planning with Coriander Living Collective

At Coriander Living Collective, you can expect a collaborative treatment planning process that starts with your intake session. Since psychotherapy/counseling is a therapeutic process, the treatment plan is a tool that we use to guide the sessions.

Typically, you can anticipate that during your second session, we will jointly design a treatment plan that captures your unique goals and outlines the actions steps we will take to work on getting you there! Since Coriander Living Collective is a private pay agency, we are not required to have a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) diagnosis for insurance reimbursement. We will still discuss the DSM-V and if a diagnosis feels beneficial or warranted for you as the client. If a client is a minor, a parent/guardian will be involved in the treatment planning process.

Treatment plans are updated every 3 months checking in on client progress and the course of treatment, making changes and pivots as needed.

I typically hear feedback from clients that prior therapists did not involve them in the treatment planning or diagnosing process. Over the years, I have seen several different therapists, and interestingly to me, only one of them ever discussed a diagnosis and treatment plan with me too, yet the counseling and psychotherapy code of ethics encourages treatment plans. I enjoy educating clients on the DSM-V and empowering them to be an active participant in their treatment plan and future wellness!

If you want to be involved in the creation of your treatment plan and learn about the DSM-V diagnoses, Coriander Living Collective may be the provider to join with for your treatment! Reach out for a free consultation!
